Bear Lodge provides glorious glamping for family and friends overlooking the resident Spectacled Bears. The lodge consists of a ‘village’ of nineteen tents which can sleep up to eight guests on a safe and enclosed site in Port Lympne reserve. The check-in time for your stay is at 3pm and the check-out time is at 10am. You can visit both wildlife parks - Howletts Wild Animal Park and Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve - from 9.30am to closure.

All of our short breaks guests have a safari included in the cost of their stay. What’s more, guests can enjoy their stay knowing that they are directly helping conservation, with all profits from the park’s short breaks going back into Port Lympne’s animal conservation charity work in collaboration with The Aspinall Foundation.

Enjoy gluten friendly pizza and authentic Italian dishes at Babydoll’s Wood Fired Pizza, or bistro style dishes at Port Lympne Hotel Restaurant. Alternatively, relax in the tranquillity of the unique Moroccan Courtyard at Port Lympne Hotel (open spring & summer), serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.
Guests will share the site with Port Lympne’s family of squirrel monkeys and can rest in the safety of the gated environment allowing you to unwind while watching your young explorers. Bear Lodge includes a play area for little ones and has its very own clubhouse complete with a bar and restaurant.
Entrance to Port Lympne and Howletts is also included in your break.
The standard day ticket to Port Lympne does not include access to the truck safari, these are available for a supplement of £6 per person.
No, the animals are in large enclosures designed to resemble their natural habitat as closely as possible.

As well as Oberon & Rina, Kent's only spectacled bears, you'll discover over 900 rare and endangered animals as you wander the rest of the 600 acre reserve. Jump aboard a safari truck at Basecamp and journey to the South American, Asian and African Experiences where you'll encounter free roaming animals and spectacular scenery. Admission to our sister park, Howletts Wild Animal Park is also included in your stay from 9.30am on the arrival day to closure on your departure day.
PORT LYMPNE RESERVE
Journey through the African and Asian experiences, all included free in your short break, to see rhinos, giraffes, wildebeest, zebra and many more. There are plenty of attractions to keep the kids occupied and for that quiet time, enjoy our walks and views, then visit the 4* Port Lympne Hotel bar and restaurant to unwind.
Port Lympne supports The Aspinall Foundation and together we fund the protection, breeding, and rewilding of rare & endangered species. Since 1984 over 320 animals have successfully been returned to the wild including 70 gorillas, 8 rhino and hundreds of Javan primates.
