At the top of the hill, in the woods of Port Lympne, Pinewood offers cosy camping pods for those looking to get back to nature amidst the roars of the resident lions and tigers. 

Each pod has a small double futon, twin beds, electric heater and storage. The toilet and shower block is just a short stroll away.

CAMPING WITH STYLE IN KENT

Located in the pine trees 50 yards from Port Lympne’s big cats, the heated pods are perfect for a romantic couples' break or a family night in the wild gathering round the fire to toast marshmallows under the stars.

PINEWOOD POD AMENITIES

Each of the 13 Standard Pods are heated, have two single beds with comfy mattresses and a double futon. There's plenty of handy storage and bedding is included, so you can travel light. Guests have access to communal toilets and shower rooms.

With views sweeping over the Trojan steps all the way to the sea, Pinewood provides a rural refuge from the hustle and bustle of the outside world.

Set under the pines at Port Lympne, the pods are a few steps from the lion enclosure where guests can marvel at these majestic creatures in the peacefulness of Pinewood.

Pinewood includes thirteen rustic pods and a shepherd’s hut spaced out amongst the trees.

All of the pods are heated, with room for up to four people. Guests have access to the communal toilet and showers and all rooms include tea and coffee facilities. Take on a family challenge in the game room or socialise around the shared campfire.

Exclusive Access

You will have exclusive access to Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve during and outside of normal visitor hours from the day of your arrival to the day of your departure.

The check-in time for your stay is at 3pm and the check-out time is at 10am. You can visit both wildlife parks - Howletts Wild Animal Park and Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve - from 9.30am on the day of arrival to close on the day of departure.

Safari Experience

Your safari will take you on an adventure through our South American, Asian and African Experience zones where you will see spectacled bears, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, camels and more.

All of our short breaks guests have a safari included in the cost of their stay (where current COVID restrictions allow). What’s more, guests can enjoy their stay knowing that they are directly helping conservation, with all profits from the park’s short breaks going back into Port Lympne’s animal conservation charity work in collaboration with The Aspinall Foundation.

Choose from a variety of home cooked dishes, using local produce and ingredients grown in our kitchen gardens at our onsite restaurants and cafes.

Enjoy gluten friendly pizza and authentic Italian dishes at Babydoll’s Wood Fired Pizza, or bistro style dishes at Port Lympne Hotel Restaurant. Alternatively, relax in the tranquillity of the unique Moroccan Courtyard at Port Lympne Hotel (open spring & summer), serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.

Location

Guests can take a relaxing stroll through the landscaped gardens to Port Lympne Hotel for a drink on the Italian-style terraces or the Moroccan Courtyard. Enjoy a safari or explore the grounds after visiting hours as dusk settles over the reserve.
